A level and GCSE
I have taught all aspects of the A level Biology and my aim is to make it as easy as possible for students to understand some of the complex parts of the A level. I enjoy using a variety of different teaching methods to improve students understanding which includes making models, going though practical work, games and quizzes. It is important to always start from first principles and gradually work up to the more complex ideas and concepts. Often with teaching large sets key concepts may be assumed and this is why one to one tuition is important.
The other major problem with A level Biology is sometimes not the knowledge but how to apply it to the questions. It is important that during a session or after a session an A level question is attempted. The focus will be on making sure that the questions are answered to the correct level of detail to maximise marks. Using terminology and learning what the examiner wants can the difference between an E grade and an A grade. 20% of the exam is numeracy and I have extensive knowledge of all aspects of the statistics and maths concepts.
I do also offer masterclasses aimed at Year13 to help them with revision. This classes will involve up to 10 students and will allow students to work with other students and sometimes this is more enjoyable.

Martin has tutored my daughter (A level) for the past few months. His knowledge of the subject and syllabus is first class. He has a friendly, approachable style which gets across the subject matter and never moves on until it has been fully understood. Lessons were determined on the topics we asked for ( and also under guidance from Martin) with lesson plans laid out for us to see in the days prior to the lesson taking place, and after lessons, he gave us work to do at home, feedback/progress reports. In short, Martin has got my daughter in the best place possible for her exams and I would thoroughly recommend him, and would happily use him in the future.
